Last week, FL Jones released "Be My Lover," a hit pop song just in time for the summer.
Inspired by the power of unconditional love, "Be My Lover" was written and produced by FL Jones and co-written by Nahuel Franco of the electro soul duo ED.1t. Though Franco and Jones often work and record together, this track is the first official collaboration from the pair. Jones describes the song as a "relaxed, four on the floor burner that is sexy, refreshing and unique."
FL and Nahuel actually met three years ago when Nahuel played in FL's band on a gig in LA. Jones was impressed not only by Nahuel's sounds and ear, but also his drive and desire to make it as a musician. After the gig, FL reached out to the young guitarist to see if he wanted to collaborate on a track at FL’s home studio. An hour later Nahuel was at FL’s place and played him a riff that he had in his head. That riff became the basic building block for the track. After an all-night writing, mixing, and recording session, they were so inspired by what they created that they finished the track and formed a relationship that became FNK Records. FNK Records is their DIY label to self- distribute their products. "Be My Lover" is the first in a series of singles from FL Jones slated to be released throughout the rest of the year, culminating in an EP to be released in 2020. |
